Thumbs up New here

Hello! My name is Mary. I was diagnosed with 4th nerve ocular palsy last Thursday and am seeking others who have dealt with this condition or are currently dealing with it. I am having a hard time adjusting. I have to wear a patch on my left eye for at least 6 weeks. I cannot drive, or work and I am pretty much housebound.

Hi Mary,

Welcome! I have an unrelated condition but did much of the housebound thing after 3 foot/ankle surgeries with extensive recovery. I found it helpful to have a routine to structure my days and would have a friend come for coffee or such at least once a week to socialize. Saw some interesting documentaries and TEDtalks on Netflix that I would not have otherwise seen Pay attention to the small things, something as silly sounding as buying a couple of orchids to place around and getting a new bird feeder for outside did actually make a difference in my enjoying my environment. Hang in there, this will pass!

Sending Healing Love,
Littlepaw
