I am scheduled for Retrosigmoid Craniotomy (for TN)in a few weeks. Can anyone tell me the difference between that and Microvascular decompression surgery? The doctor's assistant has suggested I have someone stay with me upon returning home after surgery. Can anyone tell me just how incapacitated one is after this kind of surgery? Because of pain? ...dizziness, ...blurred vision?

Hi there,

I have been experiencing crazy dizzy spells for a few years, thought I was going about silly! I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid almost 4 years ago and started thyroxine which helped but then started to get more symptoms, trouble judging stairs, feeling like I am on a merry go round and can not get off. I have had an MRI and blood tests, all have come back normal. My neurologist suggestested that I take 200mg of Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) and multi vitamin B that worked wonderfully for about 9 months. Then I got cheeky and stopped taking it. I became very unwell pretty quick with dizzy symptoms. Went back to the neurologist who suggested I up the dose of Vitamin B2 to 400mg daily. It worked for a few months, but recently I have been getting dizziness again and a bit of nausea. I have been given a prescription for sandomigran medication but am a bit nervous about taking it. Any feedback would be most welcomed.
