Default Help.

Hello everyone. I am 18 years old and it pretty good health. I do have an anxiety disorder and OCD.I am on medication for this. I would like some opinions please. No rude comments please.
I have this fear that I may have a brain aneurysm. I don't have any specific reason that I think this but the fear is starting to take over my life. I cant even focus at work because I worry so much. I just recently moved into a new apartment and i have been under a lot of stress. I was sick about a week ago with a common cold, runny nose, headache, watery eyes, sneezing. After i was getting pain in my head and my eyes from my cold I started worrying about my brain again, I had a headache today but ibuprofen took it away very quickly. I dont have vision problems or dizziness. I stay awake most nights googling signs and symptoms and than I convince myself that I may have it. I can barely sleep because I am so scared that I wont wake up. This is really starting to take over my life. What should I do? & Do you think I have an aneurysm? Please comment.

Hello,
If you really feel you may have a health issue then it might be best go to a dr to get checked out, to find out for sure or not.
If you feel it may be mostly anxiety/OCD related, do you have a therapist to talk to about your concerns? Perhaps your meds need adjusted or changed.

Welcome to NeuroTalk.

I agree that it would be really helpful for you to talk with your Doctor about your concerns. It might make it easier to sleep and you may have less anxiety just knowing that you don't have such a very serious health issue as an aneurysm.

Please let us know how you're doing.

Cool Smirk

Hi AshleyDawn,
This may be repetition, but see your GP about this, and if you don't have a Therapist please see about finding one. If I had had the correct treatments when young, maybe I wouldn't have so many problems now. Anxiety/OCD etc rarely go away on their own.
I know this may be difficult, but try not to Google conditions. It is the quickest way to scare oneself. Go to your GP first and draw on his vast knowledge, he can examine you or order tests which will definitively tell you what is wrong.
Try to stay calm.

Dave.
