I am here to hopefully receive some comments, advice and possibly piece of mind. My problem is, I believe, peripheral nerve entrapment-ulnar nerve in my right arm. I have not had luck on other forums as far as receiving comments to my concern and hope I receive feedback here. All information I receive is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I had problems, Cubital Tunnel Syndrome, after I moved house many years ago and it took its toll on my elbow. I didn't need surgery or anything and it's fairly good these days depending on what I am lifting. For a long time my hand would be affected quite badly in frozen position.

Funny thing was that I was advised to do this and do that and wear a brace on it etc., and I learned that I was in fact not doing enough to keep it moving and stretching. I remember checking out the links in the old TOS forums and that got me moving again. I hope I didn't bore you with all that!

Nope you did not bore me. Thanks for the links. I do have a question since you have what I think I do. Do you think I would be candidate surgery if I never really addressed or understood what was going on for 9 months? I have had tingling off and on for a while now and fear I have reached a threshold and will not be able to return to normal. I know I need to see a specialist, I have apps lined up.

That I couldn't know I'm sorry. You would need your Doctor to evaluate the situation and go from there.

I do think I was very fortunate though plus it was my left arm and I'm right handed so was able do most things without too much trouble. I'm not sure what would have happened if I had kept wearing the brace either. It wasn't freeing it up at all.

Do check the TOS and RSI forums though.

When are you seeing the Specialist?

I imagine you will need to visit an orthopedist or neurologist and have an EMG/nerve conduction study done to determine the extent of compression. I've read here, however, that sometimes these are inconclusive-especially in TOS. Good luck!

I am still working on appointments. Everything has to through my GP which I see tomorrow. I have seen in a chiropractor previously and he thinks it could be a pinched nerve in my neck. I would love to think he is right, but I notice symptoms when my elbow is bent. Could be both. I do have a appt with him tomorrow.

My husband had carpel tunnel syndrome in both hands and he had ulnar nerve entrapment in both arms Physical Therapy (PT) was tried as well as a custom brace for his arms and hands.

In the end he opted for surgery. He had surgery for both arms for the ulnar entrapment and one hand for carpel tunnel syndrome.

This was approximately 21 years ago. He has never had any problems with his arms (ulnar nerve) since the surgeries.
