I am a 23 year old male. I do not smoke or drink.
In December of 2014, I woke up and noticed that when I relaxed my shoulders, I had pain in my right scapula area. I feel a pull on the right side of my neck when I stretch my head to the left. When I tilt my head to the right, I don't have the same pull on the left side of my neck. When I take a full breath, I also get the pain in the scapula area. I also experience my right arm and hand feeling "thick" and achey (can't tell if it's vascular or neurological). The range of motion isn't as good in my right arm as it is in my left. I've had MRIs of my spine, EMGs, chiropractic care, massages, acupuncture, physical therapy, etc. Massage, acupuncture, and physical therapy all offer some kind of temporary relief, but the pain never fully leaves, and is completely back within the hour. |

Could it be some sort of repetitive motion , desk, computer use , posture related?
I suggest you explore our Thoracic outlet syndrome forum (TOS) for short. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum24.html helpful sticky threads- http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread125577.html http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/thread84.html Even if you don't feel you fit the symptoms fully , you could be pre TOS or a mild version..so the posture /self care ideas are a good thing to try. I'm assuming MRI and other tests showed no issues as a cause?

Hi jordanmichaelfitzsi
Welcome to NeuroTalk ![]() It might help if you saw a physiotherapist. They are health professionals with a good (both theoretical and practical) understanding of musculoskeletal issues. I see one regularly for help with my lower back pain.
