Default neurosurgeon recommendations for syringomyelia

Hi all, I'm new to the board. I was recently diagnosed with cervical syringomyelia. I am very symptomatic at this point and my neurologist want me to be evaluated for surgery. Can any one recommend a really good surgeon? I live in NC but I am willing to travel. Has anyone been to or heard about the Chiari Institute in NY? What about Dr. Batzdorf or Dr. Frazee at UCLA in Los Angeles? Any advice would be very very much appreciated. Thanks in advance!!
