Hi Kiwi, I'm bubbling around the site and maybe doubling up.lol.sorry.
I would really appreciate any help I am concerned with where my thought process, concentration, multi tasking, memory is heading. I have a Pet scan in two months to look for Alzeimer's, it worries me it could be anything serious.
Thanks,
Phil

Hi Phil

No worries about "bubbling around the site" - I did the same when I first joined the community.

PET scans for AD and other possible neurological issues come in various forms - I don't know which of them your care team have suggested.

When the results of your scan come through, please let me know if you would like me to comment on/try to interpret them for you.

That will come from my background - I am not a health professional but am a biomedical scientist whose research interests include the basis of AD.

My GP has asked for a PET scan but who knows what the Neurologist will say when I see him. Oh well. Will let you know in a few months after the appointment.
Thanks again
Phil

Hi everyone, Had EMG yesterday with my Neurologist. His comment when finished was that I have Neuropathy. He said to make an appointment with my GP for next week to go over things??
Same as most, started with pain in the ball of my left foot which turned to numbness, pins and needles. Over 4 months this moved to burning in both feet and now legs with ongoing throbbing, pins and needles in my hands and fingers. I have also started having random intermittent sharp pains in my calves and shins. I also have aches in my head and tenderness around the temples.
I also mentioned to the Neurologist my most worrying concern, periods of memory loss and confusion. I have had trouble with multi tasking and some times even adding up basic numbers in my head. Sometimes I have trouble finding the right word and just spitting it out.
The Neurologist didn't think these problems were linked to my Neuropathy, but I'm not so sure. As my body symptom's have increased so have my cognitive problems. I am scheduled for a PET scan to check for early Alzheimer's
I have had 2 melanomas removed (early stage) and have a 10yr history of working with MDF (Formaldehyde) in our workshop at school.
I'm concerned of making mistakes with my students and also duty of care.
Can this all be linked together.
Dearly appreciate any help and advice.

I am sorry that you have found yourself looking into the universe of Neurapathy. I have had relief from burning and tender skin on the tops of my feet using this lotion. Good Luck, Ken in Texas.

Just to add to Ken's recommendation - I don't think Morton's Epsom Salt lotion is available in Australia (correct me if I'm wrong) but it can be purchased online from amazon.

bluesfan is correct. Can't buy Morton's Epsom lotion here. I've double checked just this past week for myself.

Hi Phil,
Welcome to Neurotalk! :)

I am sorry you are experiencing difficulties.
Congrats on reaching out!

The PN forum here is great!
There's so much information and lots of interaction as well.

I, too, deal with PN.
The PN forum here is the best I have found anywhere.

I understand your deep concern (and anxiety) about the scan for AD.
Perhaps it's not AD at all. Here's hoping! ;)

This site, in general, is tops!

Hope to see you around the forum, Phil!

Thanks Heaps, everyone has been great and very helpful. Getting an idea of what may be ahead helps a lot.

Hi Phil. I am new to this group but can relate to this issue. On days that my body symptom's are bad my cognitive problems increase as well. This occurs especially after a bad night. For me lack of sleep plays a big part and so do the drugs I have been prescribed. I do not know which ones you are on but for me many of them have side effects that effect my mental clarity.
