Hello everyone
![]() I have a question that is probably very unusual. 4 month ago I started to have episodes of ophthalmic migraines (more a visual disturbance than a painful migraine actually). I was concerned and did eyes exams that came back fine and then, my doctor wanted me to do a MRI. The results were a few small lesions in the frontal area and hypersignal spots in the splenium area. The MRI report said it could be because of the migraines and suggested to do another MRI in 1 year just to be cautious. I never got really painful headaches though, the disturbance is more visual than anything (30 minutes of flashy things in both eyes). I was wondering why this happened 4 month ago and tried to see if I had an event that could explain the lesions. I started vigorous scalp massages a few days before the first ophthalmic migraine occurred. I did them because I have a receding hairline and have read that scalp massages could help. But the way I did them was not gentle at all for my scalp, I used to force on the skin of the scalp, created a lot of friction in order to break the calcification, my scalp was in pain after that. So my question is quite simple, do you think that a "strong 2 hands scalp massage" done by someone who lift (I'm a strong guy) could create these lesions by bringing too much blood in the brain area ? Could it create a trauma and lead to my current problems? My personal background : 34 years old, no family history of brain desease, I'm in very good shape and eat clean most of the time. Many thanks to the people that will help me with that ![]() |
