My mother was a Type 2 and started on pills and then went to insulin. Update since this Intro post 5 yrs ago:---I have been diagnosed on March 24, 2014 via EMG with Sensorimotor Polyneuropathy, Axon loss in type. Severe in degree electrically with regards to the sensory fibers of the lower extremities and moderate in degree with electrically with regards to the motor fibers of the lower extremities. My symptoms are many vibration, numbness, pins & needles, sensitivity to touch, sharp pains bottom of foot. Lately experiencing numbness in face lips and cheeks started beginning of August 2015!
