Default Hello from a new member

Just posting a Hello. Unfortunately I am back with TOS symptoms. I have been pain free since 2001 and have begun experiencing pain about 2 months ago. Not as severely but have started PT and, unfortunately, taking pain meds after almost six years off. Does anyone know if this is normal? I am visiting my surgeon, Dr. Togut in 2 weeks but am very disturbed by the thought of going through this all over again. I have been very active since successful surgery and can't even think of going back to my life before.

Any input would be appreciated. LinJane

Smile Hi, LinJane...

It's nice to meet you! But I'm so sorry for the reasons that brought you here. You must be feeling terribly frustrated right now. I don't have a diagnosis for what's causing my pain yet, though it's been five years. But I did get better once for a while, and managed to go off of all the meds for about half a year. Boy, I hated it when the pain started coming back and I had to resume the pain meds again. I really don't like those, and it sounds like you don't, either.

I really hope that maybe this is just something short-lived, and the PT pays off for you. I wish I knew more about TOS so maybe I could help you more, but I'm afraid I don't. Have you visited the TOS forum here yet? They're a pretty great bunch.

Anyway, welcome to NeuroTalk! I hope you like it here and make lots of helpful friends. And that you also find some info here that will really help. Good luck and God bless you!

Hi Lin Jane,

I also saw your post over in the TOS forum. I am a TOSer too among other things.

I am sorry to hear you are having a relapse. I know my fellow TOSers will be around to help soon.

Lets pray that this is only a temp setback.

Hi LinJane and welcome to NT. This is a wonderful place with very supportive people. I'm sorry for your recurrence.

It sounds like you found the TOS forum, I think. If not, it is here. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forumdisplay.php?f=24

Best wishes for a speedy end to this recurrence.
