Default Bi lateral Radio Frequency Ablations

Hi
Iam new to this site, and hoping you may be able to help.

On Tuesday of this week I had procedure as above in the title. I had previously had what I would say were"ordinary" injections in December but they did not do anything for the pain.

Unfortunately, I am not feeling any benefit as yet, I am putting ice packs on, how long in one go should I apply these? Also am I expecting too much too soon. I also have achondroplasia. I have coped for nearly 70 years with that, but the pain that I am having with this problem has been unbearable.

Look forward to your help.

Hello and Welcome Val,

I am so sorry you have had to come and join us. You will find many helpful and understanding people here.

I couldn't tell from your post where your ablation was done so I assuming it was near your spine. You may find others who have had the procedure done here
Spinal Disorders and Back Pain

The search feature Lara recommended is very handy.

Tuesday is very recent to have had any kind of procedure. Though I have not had RFA, I would imagine a bit of flare up, swelling and aggravation might be expected at first. We had a poster on the CRPS forum who had one recently in her knee and had some initial pain and swelling followed by relief.

Please feel free to call your doctor's nurse for any questions. That's why they are there and you are not bothering them. Ice is helpful but can be overdone, especially near delicate nerves. It is best to get their advice on that.

I hope you find relief and healing soon,

I had that procedure a few years ago. I remember experiencing 7 days of horrible pain. After that I felt a lot better.
