Hello, my story is , years ago i had a root canal filling in my front tooth. a couple of years later i had pimples appear under my top lip. After an xray i was told that a piece of the metal tool had been left up in my gum. this must of broke when they did the root canal. I had an Apicoectomy : at the hospital. years later again, pain returned and another pimple. after a 4D xray it showed a very large abscess and bone loss due to infection. The dentist advised that the first Apicoectomy did not work, i chose to have the 3 front teeth removed and crystal bone placed in the jaw bone, she also had to do another flap procedure to make sure she could remove all the infection. she gave me a temporary bridge. this was in the last week and i am recovering well, i had the 10 stitches out today. My question is , as it was so long ago, can i try for compensation from the NHS. ? i do have denplan in place but this has still cost me £2500 .

Hello dawn cowdrey: Welcome to NeuroTalk. I don't know the answer to your question nor do I know if anyone else will. However you might consider re-posting your concern in the dentistry forum:
