Hello all. I am a new member looking to see what other people have done to manage and assist with some of my symptoms as well as offer anyone advice on what I have done. A Little about my experience - 1/1/17 I hit my head and and was unconscious on my bedroom floor for a day or so and woke up in the hospital. I believe they drilled a hole in my head to relieve pressure. I was there for a month and got home 2/1/17. My only symptom in the hospital that I knew of was double vision. The month of Feb I could not walk w/o a walker and I had an odd vibration throughout my body. Gabapentin got rid of that and I began to walk the next day. My support system consists of my 3 dogs that have given me a reason to live. I still have double vision, unsteadiness and heaviness and tightness in my neck and right side. Doctors say I am doing very well, I beg to differ

Hi maestro89

Welcome to NeuroTalk .

I am sorry to read about what you have experienced.

One of the most active NT forums is "Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Concussion Syndrome " (https://www.neurotalk.org/forum92/).

It might be an idea if you checked it out. It is completely fine for you to start your own thread there . I am sure that other members will be able to offer you support and suggestions.

Hello maestro: Welcome to NeuroTalk! I trust you will find the time you spend here to be of benefit.

By the way, I also have something akin to an odd vibration throughout my body. It started out a few years ago as a sort-of restless leg syndrome. (I never sought treatment for it.) Over time it has spread throughout my body. It's not so significant that anyone else would notice. But I feel it 24 / 7. I have a psychiatrist I see periodically. (I'm not on any psych med's.) He offered to put me on Neurontin. However, so far, I've been able to manage without it.

Hi maestro,
Welcome to neurotalk! the double vision is coming from the back of your head in the optical lobe where a persons eyesight is. I've had 2 brain surgeries done and it took awhile to recover. My best advice to you is to see an Epileptologist which is a Dr that specializes in epilepsy but they know much more than a neurologist and how the brain works. I wish you the best of luck and May God Bless You!
