Default Anosmia

Hi Everyone,

New member here, I have had anosmia (loss of smell) for about 3 months now. I have done a lot of research and reading without trying to overwhelm myself about what it could be. My PCP gave me steroids for a week, I was then referred to a ENT where I was telescoped to check for polyps etc. nothing was found so I was asked to have a CT Scan of my sinuses. Nothing was found in my CT Scan and I was asked to take a hearing test (added symptom since last visit to ENT) because of dizziness. Hearing test came back normal, so I was asked to take a balance test and my CT Scan of my brain was changed to an MRI. During my visit with the ENT he did notice nodules on my thyroid so he also requested an ultrasound of my thyroid. I went for my MRI/ultrasound on Monday 8/28. My follow with my ENT is 9/14, and balance test on the 13th.

This is all very emotionally overwhelming and I am glad to have found a least this chat group for support. It amazes me how little is known and discussed regarding loss of smell.

Hoping to get a diagnosis soon so I can start to heal the best that I can.

F/39
