Default What type of Physician specializes in Thoracic Outlet Syndrom

Hello,

I'm trying to locate a provider that specializes in Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS). I don't know what type of doctor treats this condition. So far, I've heard Vascular Surgeon, chiropractor, and PT.

Please Help!

All the best,
Layla Anaya

Hi Layla

Welcome to NeuroTalk .

If you have a look at the sticky thread at the top of the TOS forum (https://www.neurotalk.org/forum24/) you should be able to find information about doctors where you live..

The rest of the forum could help you as well.

Best wishes.

There are different types of TOS (NTOS, VTOS, Pec minor, extra C rib...), also different severity levels, activity and posture effects..
Do explore all the sticky threads on our TOS forum..
Our site search can bring up info from past posts.

Hi!

You would want a cardio-thoracic surgeon; but not all CT surgeons have tons of experience operating on that particular issue. I would seek a CT surgeon at a larger Medical Center/teaching hospital. Make sure the surgeon you choose has preformed this operation more than a few times. Best wishes!

A Neurologist isn't a surgeon. Do you mean Neurosurgeon? TOS is a condition for a (Cardiao)Thoracic Surgeon/Vascular Surgeon. The only surgeon I've seen operate on a TOS is an Open Heart Surgeon=CardioThoracic Surgeon.
