Default Partner has TBI

New here so thought I'd say Hi.
2 years ago my partner slipped in the wet while out running. We found him walking down the street with total amnesia, no idea of his name or who I was (19 years together). The hospital diagnosed him with frontal lobe damage resulting in TBI. All we know 2 years later was he has a slight memory of being in a puddle of water, being wet and trying to get up knowing he was meant to get somewhere but confused. Sadly his TBI and amnesia also triggered his PTSD because he didn't remember he needed cannabis.
Early days they said 5-6 years. I followed my gut and 2 years later he's studied, got a new carer and is happy. It's only early days and if he doesn't take aspirin, have mint lollies, is overtired, hungry, stressed or not on cannabis then his TBI comes back full force.

Hi Auqua

Welcome to NeuroTalk .

I am sorry to read about your partner.

The TBI/PCS forum here (https://www.neurotalk.org/traumatic-...sion-syndrome/) is very active so I am sure that if you post there you will get a lot of support and good ideas from other members.

Best wishes.
