Default Temple sensitivity

Hi! My left temple has been hurting for over a year now. The trigger of the pain is a light touch along the hairline, similar to the symptoms described in the older thread on this forum titled "Sensitive/Painful to touch skin on my right temple" (you may find it via the search option as the system didn't allow me to paste the link to that thread in my post here). Using a hairdryer, applying and washing off make-up, putting on and taking off clothes, being outside on a windy day, and many other things that result in light touching of my left temple area cause pain. I saw a neurologist, who diagnosed me with trigenimal nauralgia (TN) with unknown cause. My MRI was clean, and the only treatment option the doctor suggested was Gabapentin followed by Carbamazepine for pain management. Gabapentin didn't do a thing for me, and I haven't tried Carbamazepine because of the endless list of its side effects and restrictions. I've read the print-outs with the info about TN that the doctor gave me, but the symptoms of TN and my condition seem very different. TN comes with pain attacks, which is not the case in my situation - I have no pain at all unless there's something lightly touching the area. I feel like TN is not my diagnosis, but I'm afraid that my condition can develop into something as bad as TN. Also, my family doctor and even dentist said that the left side of my face and back feels very tight, and prescribed a muscle relaxant. I'm not sure how it's supposed to work, but I don't feel any difference when taking it. I started doing neck exercises, stretches, etc, but so far the pain is still there with no changes. I also went to a chiropractor for 2 sessions - he explained to me that the nerve pain on the temple might be caused by the misaligned atlas and popped everything that he could pop in my body... but the pain persisted. No matter what I try, the pain doesn't get better, but it doesn't get worse either. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this, and what do you do to help yourself. I want to believe that it'll go away if I continue staying active and do neck stretching exercises, but so far I have no idea if all I do is helping in any way. Please share your experience if the situation sounds familiar to you.
