Default Hi I am new and I am looking for information on Meralgia Paresthetica

Hello, my new Doctor just finally explained to me what the pain I have been having for over 2 years on both my outer thighs is, after my old Dr couldn't, PT therapists and an Orthopaedic Specialist. He explained to me what Meralgia Paresthetica is and it sounds like that is what I am experiencing. Some of the symptoms sound like it but some don't. I don't really have a burning or numbing sensation, I have downright debilitating pain mainly when I am sleeping at night, I wake up and can't move to turn over to get off that side without excruciating pain. I have tried sleeping with many different sized pillows between my knees to alleviate some of the pain, sometimes it works and some times it doesn't. My doctor explained that there isn't the need for an MRI, because I asked since Xrays didn't show anything. I explained to him that I also have broken my tailbone twice - the 2nd time I believe badly bc while sleeping on my back I also wake up and immobile due to the pain. I am just looking for more information. He explained that removing the weight-bearing causes is helpful - then explained that normally he tells someone if they need to lose weight - in my case I don't at all. I also do not carry anything heavy on a constant basis - which he explained could be the cause. After a troublesome night, the pain lingers and I can't sit in certain positions or put my shoes on stuff like that. Mostly during the day it does not inhibit me from performing my duties BUT at night - oh boy I can't even lay on that side and when I end up sleeping on it Id prefer to die from the pain that wakes me up. Any help would be greatly appreciated. i coudln't figure out how to post my own threat or make a new post regarding this so i thought I would just add everything to the "Introduce myself" section.
