I want to share what I hope may bring awareness to how many fumes we inhale off the push mower, line trimmer and blower, on an average day. I fear some of us feel sickish but may not make the connection with exhaust fumes. I don't think anyone is immune to exhaust but how do you know how it affects you and when its beginning to have an affect on your body. I've run chain saws for years and never wore a vapor mask. All the mowers and tillers and concrete saws and continuous exposure has left me super sensitive. It's important to know that any exposure to fossil fuel exhaust fumes is unacceptable. Would you hang out behind your car with the engine running ? I think not. Exposure over time builds up with continual use of gas powered equipment. Protect yourself from the parts you CANNOT see. That's all for now. Rj Brooks

Welcome to NeuroTalk Support Groups.

Great advice. Thankyou.

I live on in the middle of fields of a working sugar cane farm.
I have a lot of concerns with all that and more.

I also tend to worry about my ears when I'm on the ride-on mower and hadn't thought about the fumes.

We have a Allergies and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Forum here if you need it.

Take care.

Default My story

Hey people, rj Brooks. Sharing my experience. The material i have worked with for years has been the source of the chemical exposure. PT lumber, plywood, OSB or flake board, particle board, Masonite. I have reached the point where I cannot allow any exposure to the dust created from working with these materials. I just invested in new charcoal filters so I don't have to stop what I do for a living but at the same time I wish manufactures of so many of the building trade materials could stop with the saturated nasty stuff. You will have to consult your MSDS on the material you personally work with to identify nasty stuff but its there. I took it for granted coming up through the the trades. Now I'm paying for it.
