Default Trying to find out what's happening to my daughter

Hi, my teenage Daughter suddenly started walking like she was drunk almost 2 weeks ago, she started slurring her words about 5 days later, well that's when we noticed her speech. We took her a neurologist at Children's about 4 days after her symptoms began. We were told that she would be ok and that she would probably to be back to normal within a few weeks. When she started slurring her words,, we took her to Mott's Children's Hospital, which was 3 days ago. They did a brain MRI with contrast on her. They couldn't find anything. They also ran 6 different blood tests which were negative. They followed up with me yesterday and is going to set us up with a pediatric Neurologist who will be best suited to help her. I feel like I am watching my daughter get worse before my eyes and I don't know what to do. We feel so helpless. I can't imagine what is happening. Just about everything that I look up shows brain involvement and her Mri is clear.

Welcome, TriciaK!

I wish I could steer you toward some helpful information. If you browse around here at NeuroTalk, you'll find some discussions that might be useful. Your daughter's symptoms might have any number of causes.

Of course you and the doctors have looked into any drugs or dietary changes that might be responsible. If those have been ruled out as causes, you'll probably have to keep as careful an eye as you can on her symptoms--maybe keep a log of them--and report them as accurately as you can to the doctors.

They will need to know not just what symptom but when it came on and how long it lasted and how intense it seemed to be. For example, did the slurring come and go or was it constant?

It's this kind of detailed information that makes it easier for the doctors to get at the source of the problem.

The hospital you mentioned has a good reputation, I think. I hope that they'll find some answers for you soon.

OP: Strange strange strange for your daughter's issues and the tests show no issues, The first thing that came to me and you never know, did your daughter do the covid vaccines? I've read so many issues from those who have taken them... There is SO MUCH we don't know about what they can do. Hope you can find some results....

A suggestion is to find a qualified Naturpath and consult with them on your daughter. Amazing they can figure out t things a mainstream doc does not. My grandgirl 25, just went to a nauropath and he muscle tested and other things they do and gave her so much good info to look into. There are reasons OP. Grandgirl's issues probably come from childhood vaccines and foods that are doing her body harm. So so many possibilities a mainstream doc does not go to.

These are the exact same symptoms I started with as a teenager before I was admitted to hospital. I was diagnosed some time later with myasthenia gravis. They found the diagnosis very difficult due to my young age.

Thank you everyone. I have been doing some research and I came across Frederick's Ataxia and I am really scared. She was diagnosed with scoliosis last year and her symptoms are falling right in line. I can't sleep and am just constantly sick over this. I am praying that they will have an appointment for us tomorrow.
She didn't have the vaccine. My family, as well as myself, had Covid in March. I suffered a heart attack in March and 2 minor ones which was believed to be as a result of Covid. My arteries were spasming but no blockages were found. I truly appreciate your responses.
