If the Wahls diet isn't working, that doesn't mean you don't have MS. It may be a while before you find out whether you do have MS. Some diagnoses take a long time--even years.

The MRI is the preferred way of diagnosing MS, and if yours was clear, that probably means you don't have it, but there are exceptions.

A while back Wahls was claiming that her diet had cured her MS. She's modified the statements on her Website somewhat since then but it still sounds as if she's making inflated claims about her diet.

For instance:

She is also a patient with secondary progressive multiple sclerosis, which confined her to a tilt-recline wheelchair for four years. Dr. Wahls restored her health using a diet and lifestyle program she designed specifically for her brain and now pedals her bike to work each day. She is the author of The Wahls Protocol: How I Beat Progressive MS Using Paleo Principles and Functional Medicine, The Wahls Protocol: A Radical New Way to Treat All Chronic Autoimmune Conditions Using Paleo Principles (paperback), and the cookbook The Wahls Protocol Cooking for Life: The Revolutionary Modern Paleo Plan to Treat All Chronic Autoimmune Conditions.

Thank you. Yeah, I never really thought her diet would be the holy grail for me, but considering my doctors haven't found anything, I figured it wouldn't hurt to give it a try. It at least sounded more desirable than going on Gabapentin or Cymbalta, which are the two medications I've been offered.
