Hi everyone nice to meet you all! I am here because I feel that my brain got rewired somehow from being on antidepressants for many years then going off of them. It has been almost 6 yrs. now and haven't been the same since like somehow my neural pathways or transmitters got changed. I don't know how to describe it. One thing that seems to stand out is that when I eat or drink anything it seems to affect me mentally and feels physical in my brain. Is there anyone out there who could understand this??? If I just had a name for what the issue is! I am taking Sertraline now for a year but it doesn't seem to help that much. My head feels foggy, sleepy and depressed like I am missing something but I function normally on a daily basis.

Welcome, jlmohler61!
I don't have any experience with antidepressants but I hope someone will come along who can reply to your questions. I'm Joan and have had MS since 1980. I try not to take any medicine that might have an effect on the central nervous system because MS is already affecting my central nervous system, but I understand that antidepressants these days can be very useful. On the other hand, you don't want to get dependent on them. It looks as if you've used an e-mail address as your user name. You might want to change that if possible. People often don't want their e-mail addresses going out to the general public.

OP: I've taken A/D/s off and on in my long life, and totally off them, they never did any good in my life.
Once I got my thyroid trully addressed and FIXED by the Wise MD, I have been fine. That was in 2002 when I got the help FINALLY and it went on for about 10 yrs of not having the WISE MD ... Something to think about OP. |
