Default Hello!

Hi folks,
I do believe I've finally found the place I've been looking for.

I'm Cliff, a recently retired Emergency Medical Technician in the NHS ambulance service. Gutted not to have made 30 years, just a mere 29 years, 9 months, 6 days, 7½ hours.

Medically retired due to post thrombotic syndrome and peripheral neuropathy.

The latter by far the greater problem.

I have no or very little sensation from mid-shin down on both legs, apart that is, from pain.

I take 10mg amitriptyline at night with 2 x 30/500mg cocodamol.

For a short time, I took 20mg amitriptyline but the dreams became nightmares, quite horrific at times so I reverted back to 10mg.

My gait and balance are badly affected and the pain during the day is awful.

I'm hoping I might benefit from advice from you good people and possibly help others out in the process.
Cheers!

Hi Cliffasausus,
Welcome to the NeuroTalk Support Groups!

I'm sorry for the reasons that bring you here but I'm sure you'll find a lot of very useful information and very helpful people.

If you can, check out the PN forum and others that I've posted below.

https://www.neurotalk.org/peripheral-neuropathy/

https://www.neurotalk.org/pn-tips-re...er-treatments/

https://www.neurotalk.org/medications-and-treatments/

I ran a full forum search for post thrombotic syndrome and came up with half a dozen posts, but many more spread all throughout the forums for deep vein thrombosis.

Take care
