Hello Everyone. I am new here. I am 60 years old. About 3 1/2 months ago started having burning in my feet. Had a EMG yesterday and all nerves were normal. Took me 3 months just to get the EMG. Can't get into Neurologist until Mid March. From researching is sounds like Small Fiber Neuropathy. Anybody here have experience with this SFN ? And what helps with the burning? I am on Gabapentin and tried Lyrica, neither one helped at all. Has anyone herd of Nuphoria Gold supplements? Or tried NA-R-Alpha-Lipoic-Acid?. This is terrible. Starting to feel it in calves and shins also. Thank you. Jerry

I've had this for about 3-4 years. Wearing comfortable shoes with lots of cushion help. Sketcher's shoes work best for me. You can try lidocaine sprays. I use icy hot max spray. It takes the edge off. I take gabapentin but in high doses and flexaril. Hope this helps?

Welcome, JerryW!
Welcome, bowers2lpn! I have diabetes and wear diabetic shoes that have to be prescribed by a podiatrist and obtained through a place specializing in footwear for people with medical problems affecting their feet. Ever since I've changed to diabetic shoes, I've found that many problems I was having went away. Though burning feet wasn't one of the problems, I agree that comfortable, well-fitting shoes can often help. You might be so used to the shoes you've been wearing that you're not aware that they may not be right for you. While you're waiting for that appointment with the neurologist, you might want to consult a podiatrist about the shoes you've been wearing, JerryW. I hope that you can find some good answers soon.
