Default Sensitive to touch spot on head - then pain disappears

Hello and thank you for the add. For about 8 months I've had this quarter-sized spot of intense sensitivity near my hairline, above my right temple. When I'm not touching it, it's a dull ache, when I apply even the lightest pressure, boom, intense sensitivity. The strange thing as, as I continue to gently rub the area, it's like I'm rubbing away the sensitivity and it all but disappears...until an hour or so later when I touch it again and then the whole thing repeats itself. The lighter the pressure, the more pain. Pressing firmly on the area weirdly feels good. I also have an overall heaviness feeling and general achiness in my right ear, upper jaw (right side), and occasionally around and behind my right eye. I need sinus pain in the back of my head at times, also.

This just appeared one day last July and has been the same ever since - no better and no worse. I've had a head CT scan, a brain MRI with and without contrast, have visited neurology who pretty much ruled out anything serious, seen the dentist, seeing the eye doctor this week and waiting on a referral to ENT. Last year my PCP put me on a cycle of Valtrax to treat it as shingles but no change. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm 37, female, in good overall health, no bad habits (no smoking, drinking, etc.). At a loss.

I included a screenshot of another thread from 14 years ago where a few people where describing almost the exact same thing, but there were no real answers. I also included a picture with red areas where I feel this pain.

Do you have any neck, shoulder pain, upper back or arm pain?
sore , achy, or a dull burning?

If so look up trigger points and referred pain and see if any of the spots and treatment work for you.. self treatment with simple touch is worth trying.

Yes all of the above at different times. I know my neck and traps are tight and hold a lot of tension. I get frequent tension headaches and my upper back hurts, also.
