Help BIGMAN131307 and I've been struggling with seizures for over 20years

BIGMAN131307 and I've been struggling with seizures for over 20years.

My seizures aren't "controlled" yet, but they don't occur as often. I'm in the process of maybe having surgery. But I'm still unsure. I've heard the good & bad stories after surgery. So I've been checking into other treatments also. If anyone has experience with any of the following please let me know.

Epilepsy Surgery
VNS
Biofeedback, Neurofeedback
G.A.R.D. diet

Thx,

Bigman,

Hello and welcome to NeuroTalk. There are a great number of people here willing to assist you as they can.

I myself have had epilepsy over forty years and have had some experance with treatment. I do have a VNS inserted about 4 years ago. Some people have good luck and some don't. My spells are not controlled but they are a lot shorter and not as many.

Let me know if I can help you out any.

Darlene

Note

Thx, for the welcome. I'm looking to find out what I can about:

Epilepsy Surgery
VNS
Biofeedback, Neurofeedback
G.A.R.D. diet

So anyone who has having, had, or planning to use any of those treatments let me know about it. I'd like to get thoughts & opinions for both sides.

My son has the VNS but he is 16, one of the biggest things with the
VNS, is that you go in with the attitude that what you get out of
it is better than you had.

Derrick has done many things he couldn't before. And his quality of life
has improved. He still has many seizures. But the magnet does stop
the seizures and helps with the amount of time he needs to recover.

I would suggest you get ahold of cyberonics, and ask to be put in contact
with some of their ambassadors too.

Also please go to the epilepsy forum here and ask questions.

You asked about neurofeedback for seizures. Yes this is a wonderful remedy. Non-invasive, natural, highly effective. Just Google: Seizure Neurofeedback. Also called EEG biofeedback.

Seizures are an electrical storm in the brain. Brain wave biofeedback calms the storm. Seizures reduce, medications can be withdrawn, surgery avoided. There is nearly 40 years of research and experience with neurofeedback for seizures. It works on animals.
