Confused Neuro Newbie

Hi all....
I am soooo glad to have found this forum...

A couple of months ago, I was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea, and I am now on a CPAP machine (thus I joined the CPAP talk forum) at night, and I sleep like a baby...

that is until two weeks ago, when I awoke (on my Back) with such a severe burning in my left thigh, I almost screamed...moving helped, and I got up and found a Neurontin that I had left over after surgury for cervical spinal stenosis...(boy, aren't I a Mess????)

Anyway, the neurontin took the edge of, and my DR thinks it is MP, and from what I've been reading, it probably is...

Do ya think it really will go away in a couple of months?

I have some weight to lose, especially in my mid-section, but how the %$#@ am I supposed to walk/exercise with this burning?

Any suggestions???

Thanks,

Chrissy...the latest neuro/newbie

Hi, Chrissy!

Welcome to NeuroTalk! I'm afraid I don't know anything about MP, but I do know about weight loss. My best suggestion is to stay away from all packaged foods, and stick with the four food groups as close to the way God made them as possible. And remember, if you can get it from your car window, it's not food!!

I lost and have maintained this way for almost 16 years. It's a lifestyle change, not a temporary fix.

Have you tried some of the gentler exercise programs such as "Sit and be Fit" on PBS?

Hello Chrissy and Welcome!

I''m not going to be of any help to your questions, but just wanted to say Hi and glad you found us.

Oh, and Cindy does know what she's talking about. She has helped a mutual friend of ours lose over 40 lbs.

Good luck and take care.
