Hi
I am new to this site and wish to hear from anyone who has been disagnosed with a Tarlov Cyst on their Sacrum. I suffered a transverse fracture of my Sacrum (S3) back in July and it has apparantley healed well (although there is a very slight displacement) however I have had ongoing problems with symptoms that relate to having a Tarlov Cyst - and in fact a Tarlov Cyst was confirmed on a recent MRI scan measuring approximately 1cm, sited below the fracture site. However, my Consultant has said in his opinion the symptoms are not from the Tarlov Cyst. As he is not an expert in this type of cyst he is writing to a neuro surgeon colleague to ask if he is telling me the right information. This is driving me crazy as I can't sit for long without severe pain (feels like I'm sat on a rock and someones trying to push through my Sacrum), nerve pain in my perineal area, buttock and down my leg, difficulty bending, lifting and driving and SLEEPING! The Consultant has referred me to a pain specialist and from then is organising physical therapy - will this help?..I hope so. I am also concerned about the risk of the Cyst increasing in size. Looking forward to hearing from anyone (medical or otherwise) with any valid information. Regards Jane |
