Default Hello

Hi, I just registered with Neuro, I have only 1 child and as everyday goes bu the situation seems to down hill. He's 8 years old and was diagnosed with Bipolar disorder when he was 6 years old. He's constantly in trouble at school and home. He's been suspended several times and for what because once he goes back to school the problems continue. I've taken him to several doctors, counselors, and phsychiatrist; and once they see him they say nothing seems to be as severe as we describe, he's very manipulative and my husband and I are at our wits end. What do we do???????

Hello & Welcome,
so the Drs think medication wise he is doing OK?
If so,
Sometimes parents need to make sure they are a firm united front.
I don't know if you even watched any of those Nanny shows, where the nanny comes and gives advice to the parents?
They had some good things in those- but being a team together was the main point I think.
and expecting good behavior - not letting things slide by.
He can't manipulate either of you if you don't let it happen.

This is just what came to my mind as I read your post.

I'm sure there are some good books too - but off hand I can't think of any titles.
I hope some others have some info for you
Are there classes for parents of Bipolar children - how to cope, etc?

There is a bI-Polar child area, that isn't too active.

But if you start posting there we will post back to you.

And it will grow if people start to psot.
