Book Greetings to all! I'm a new member

Hello out there. I am a new member. I'm 49, married to a wonderful guy and have 2 beautiful teenaged daughters, 17 and 15. I have fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and last but not least, chronic Lyme disease. I'm in a huge flare-up right now due to family concerns, including my older daughter, and finances. (Probably all of us have the financial issue, huh?) I try to keep going every day, but trying to get that right balance of rest and work is very hard.

I see a fibromyalgia specialist who uses "pulsed" antibiotic therapy to treat the Lyme. I'm on an antibiotic for 2 weeks, then off for 2 weeks. The idea is to try and get those "bad guys" confused, hopefully to kill them off. I struggle with concentration problems, and get very down when this happens. I work at a law firm as a nurse consultant, and really need to have my brain in top form. I only work 2 days a week, thankfully, so I usually can crash on the days between working and after.

Our family life is very busy; my older daughter is a senior. She has just been accepted to her first college choice, so we're very excited about that. She has depression, anxiety and some mood swings, so "Mom" worries about her some.

I'm a Christian, and am so thankful to be able to lean on God with all of this. My faith truly sustains me.

I wish everyone a wonderful Sunday afternoon. God bless.

Default Thanks for the welcome!

Just got back from singing in choir at a Thanksgiving service. I feel like I'm going to keel over. Why is it we can do so well in the moment, not feel so much pain, then when an event ends, it feels like you're gonna die??

The sermon did mention how we should be ever thankful, and I truly am for my family, my doctor, etc. I also try to see how my illness can be a blessing: ie, now I have to ask for help, and don't/can't do everything myself, as a nurse I've been able to talk to a lot of folks about their conditions and help guide them. I just get so tired sometimes. I want to be normal again....

hello,
i am sorry to hear that you are ill. you have a wonderful attitude. i love to collect knitting books and yarn. used to be a fabricholic. i can barely type. getting ketamine end of month. very scared. no support system. i feel like i am in labor every second. i am 50. was a court stenographer. i have a 21 yr old son. I have some kind of movement disorder like i am trying to get out of my own body from the pain and burning. my son worries all the time about school, me and all the worries of youth. I am sorry your daughter is going thru a rough time. this is the best time of their lives and they are worrying it away. i tell my son to live his life, travel, laugh. I love him so deeply and feel so guilty for being ill. i was a single mom. he lives with his dad and stepmom and two little brothers, he is on deans list and plays sports. i don't understand what my illness is, but i have become a shut in from the pain, disenfranchised from religious community, just isolated. my best friend from college is in binghamton, ny. something about your profile reminded me of her. she is a salt of the earth type of person. i have a million things to do, make phone calls, deal with incompetent abusive negligent aides, doctors who arent as sophisticated as i'd like. They don't bother sending me for any special tests, it's like i'm a ghost and nobody is helping me with this fight. I am afraid that the ketamine will mess my brain up and that's all I have left. i am sorry if this upsets you. i just wish I could sit and relax with music and tea and knit something beautiful. please feel better and your daughter too. my name is perri. i am female. everyone thinks i am a guy because my name is a boys name.
