Hi everyone, My name is *Barb and today is my first day here. Please excuse any goof-up's as I am trying to make my way through this forum..: I found this forum very accidently, but extremely happy I did! A few years back I belonged to another forum, very similar to this one, however, I couldn't find them and then saw a note stating they had dissolved, and then saw NT. I started to write this introduction a number of times, but it was just TOO long, so I will make it brief. Any questions please don't hesitate to ask. I am here primarily due to a spine issue that has not resolved in almost four years. I had back surgery in 2004, a laminectomy and decompression (L-4,5 & S1). It didn't really work as I still have many problems with walking, standing for a short while etc.. Over the past few months my back has gotten much worse I am unable to get out of bed in the mornings without waiting for about 45 minutes for my back to wake up, my upper spine just doesn't want to sit on my lower spine without excruciating pain. I have tried to stand up, just can't do it. I am in End Stage Renal Failure, not yet on dialysis, I have diabetes, and also neuropathy in my feet. I am a very up person and I take everything pretty much with a grain of salt. I accept what problems crop up believing there is a reason for what God is giving me. One thing is for certain, however, and that is I need to do something about my back before I start dialysis or get a kidney transplant. Time is running short. I am married with three children aged 25, 24 and 17. I love to fish, golf, bowl and am very competitive and a very gracious loser. We live in Wisconsin, I'm not a packer fan, what happened to Chicago this year!! *Barb |

I'm very pleased to meet you. You sound like a pleasant person to know. I'm glad that your random search landed you here, and look forward to getting to know you. There are many nice people here on NT, but it's kind of slow right now because of Christmas.
I have a five-year unresolved issue myself, but I don't yet have a diagnosis to give it a name. Like you, I do my best to deal with it and live a normal life. Anyway, it was really good hearing from you. I hope you stick around. Good luck and best wishes to you! ![]() Idealist |
