Smile Hi there

Hi this is Ginnie.I just thought I'd introduce myself.I live in the UK,am 60 year!and have decided I'm going to grow old as disgracefully as possibleI've been married to Richard for 34 years and we have 2 grown up children,Stephen and Clare.I started with Arachnoiditis and Fibromyalgia in86 but wasn't diagnosed till 91.In 2000 I had a stroke, but after some hard work am now back to normal with my speech, reading etc,Ican walk with a stick and have a wheelchair for really bad days,I tend to try and forget its there! You'd think after having Arach all this time I'd be used to it,but,as we all know this hateful disease keeps coming up with new symptoms all the time and sometimes more frightening than the last.So really I don't think I'll ever get used to it.I'm at home all the time because I was reg Disabled in 91.We moved yo our home 12 years ago which means all my friens are 60 miles away in the Town I was bought up in and I don't really know anyone here.Richard leaves for work at 8 and returns at 6,so most days I don't see or speak to anyone which can be quite lonely.Luckily I 've had my companion Boxer dog Harry for nine years, but in October he was diagnosed with a brain tumour in October and he died nearly 3 weeks ago,I miss him dreadfullyAnyway my daughter and hubby have insisted I get another companion and next week we're getting a puppy,a cavalir king charles spaniel!I must admit I'm looking forward to him arriving,it will give me something else to focus on besides the Arach etc.And thats my story, hope I havent "gone on "a bit.Ireally hope by joining this group I can help myself not to feel alone with the symptoms of Arach and Fibro etc and also that I can contribute.Take care and thanks,Ginnie

Hi Ginnie and Welcome to NT. Guess What? Your'e not alone anymore. You have us!!! It does sound like you have a great supportive family and that's a plus.

I also suffer from Fibro, so know all too well the pain and frustration it can cause. I looked up Arachnoiditis and all I can say is, you have alot to deal with.

But, just wait till you get that lil pup in your loving hands. Nothing can make me smile like puppy kisses.

Glad to have you w/us and let us know what you name the new furbaby.

Cindy already gave you some great directions, so I just decided to chit chat w/you. Jump in anywhere and join us...

take care.

Thumbs up Thanks

I just wanted to say thank you for your welcome to the group.I feel better already knowing I have somewhere to pop into when the Arach and Fibro are getting on top of me.I've surprised myself already by going into the chat "lounge",it's quite fun joining the 21st century.I may be getting to grips with the PC but I still can't set the timer to record a programme off the TV lol!I will let you know when our little fury friend arrives,we've decided to call him Georgie and I'm getting things ready for him.Iread a quote today that I must share with you: ANIMALS SPEAK MORE WISELY WITH THEIR EYES THAN PEOPLE DO WITH THEIR MOUTHS.How true that is when I look at the photograph I have of my dear Harry!Again thanks and take care, love Ginnie

Hi Ginny. I met you in Chat this morning. How exciting to get a new pup.
I have two myself and without them I would really be lonely through the day because I don't get out much either.

You will meet a lot of wonderful people here who also helps with the lonliness.

Take care of yourself.

Looking forward to more of your posts

Hi and Welcome, Ginnie!
I love your attitude! Growing old disgracefully sounds like a lot more fun than it's opposite .
Be sure to post a picture of your new puppy when you get him. Cavalir King Charles Spaniels are such beautiful dogs, and adorable puppies!
I look forward to hearing more from you..Take care!
