Default New here! 3yr old son with Mito (Complex IV)

Our son has Mitochondrial disease (Complex IV)..he is EXTREMELY EXTREMELY!!!!! hyperactive!! developmentally delayed (by about 1 yr at this time), low tone, aspirates thin liquids, has chewing and swallowing issues. difficulties with speech. He takes the "Mito Cocktail" and it seems to help him. Overall health is good. Very unpredictable behavior...ie will ask for something, then when you give that thing to him, he will start shouting "no, no!!!'...then just as quickly smiles and takes the requested item! Many more questions than answers about mito! Any other families on this forum with Mito children? If so, I would love to hear about your experiences!

Hi, Cam! Welcome to NeuroTalk!

I'm afraid I don't know what your son's condition is, but you may find some help in our children's health forum here:http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum9.html

Feel free to join in anywhere. We also have a search engine in the toolbar located near the top of every page. Let us know if we can help you navigate the forums.
