"stumbled" upon this site when I was trying to find answers to why DST has always messed me up so majorily. And as I get older, it seems only to get worse. Forcing myself awake earlier is almost impossible for me. As it is now, I have to set my clock 2 hrs ahead and beat the darn thing to death before I can get out of bed... But then, if I could only go to bed before 3 am...

Three o'clock! That's getting-up time, not going-to-bed time!

Welcome to the neighborhood. I love your user name!

I always thought the gain an hour, lose an hour concept was such a crock, especially when my kids were small. Everybody with kids KNOWS that you never "gain" sleep.

In the spring, you lose an hour because the kids wake up at the same time no matter what you do with the clocks during the night.

In the fall, you put the kids to bed, turn the clocks back, then stay up late to enjoy your "extra" hour. Guess what? You end up losing another hour!

At two hours loss per year, by the time the kids are 18, you're about two days behind everybody else.

Hi there and welcome to NT!

I loved your comment about the alarm clock. It's a wonder I haven't flung mine against the wall yet. And I wake up about an hour before I have to just to get myself motivated enough to take a shower and get ready for work. LOL

Welcome to Neuro Talk...

I think changing to DST this early is crazy too. We still have snow on the ground so what will I do with the extra hours of sunlight....

Hope things are well for you today!

Hello and Welcome to NeuroTalk. When your'e going to bed, I'm usually getting up to go to the bathroom. Have you tried upping your bedtime by trying an hr at a time, so head to bed at 2pm and see how that works? Then, keep adjusting it.

Or, are you just a night owl? I can barely make it past 10pm.
I also loved your alarm clock battle. I keep banging my snooze too, and it goes back off in 3 mins. Why I torture myself, I don't know..

Take a look around and make yourself at home. Really glad you found us.

Hi, Crazygrammy! Welcome to NeuroTalk!

We have a nifty search engine found in the toolbar at the top of every page, it may help you locate discussions about DST. Feel free to join in anywhere.
