Default totallylost

Hello,
This is hard for me to do but I will do my best. I am a 59 yr old female with a son who is 29, to cut to the chase he is bipolar, a liar, a thief, a drug user, alchol, (sp) and loves to gamble, wow is there anything left? I am trying to take it one day at a time, one min ea hr, and one second out of ea minute. I'm not sure how to help him. He won't take meds, so the medical part is pretty well down. Law enforcement, well if I wasn't afriad f him being victimized ...I would..would he be? That is the $64,000.00 question. Tks, Carol My heart is broken, I can't fix him, and he don't want to fix him...so the cycle goes on unless I call the police.

Hi Carol and welcome to NeuroTalk. I think he really needs some tough love, hard as that is sometimes. I see you found our bipolar forum...we also have an alcoholism forum. Here is the link to it. http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum31.html

It's important that he is safe and is getting help.

Heart Hello Totallylost

Welcome to NT!
This is such a wonderful place for support and understanding
I'm so sorry about what your son is putting you through.
This is NOT what we signed up for when we had our kids!

There are several great forums here that I know you'd benefit from, and it certainly does help to talk with others who care
Alffe has given you a great starting point...
We also have a Caregiver's Support forum, here's the shortcut link:
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum56.html

It's so good that you are reaching out like this.
I felt so alone in my battle until I found Neurotalk. Everyone is so down-to-earth
It's great to have you!

Caring,
Rae
