Default Looking for resources for daughter's injury

Hello. My 13-year-old daughter was hit by a car on Sunday, March 16. She was discharged from the hospital this past Thursday. She was diagnosed with right SAH, left SAH, temporal bone fracture, right frontal lobe contusion, TBI with BLOC, and lactic acidosis. I have no idea how lactic acidosis comes into the picture.

I'm just trying to find resources so that I can know how to cope with the whole thing...her recovery, problems that might come up, and the trauma. I don't know what to expect. She is obviously very traumatized and has regressed. I'm still pretty scared and traumatized myself.

She has her first followup next Wednesday and it will be determined when she can return to school. That will be a huge step. She's in a quiet, controlled environment right now, but as the doctor told me, school is a different story. There will be a lot of noise and distractions and that will be when we know how she will react and how deeply she has been affected...physically.

If there are forums for parents of children with TBI, can someone share them with me? I really appreciate any information. I don't have time to look around and read much on this site right now but wanted to post.

Thanks,
Ziora
