Default Grief

I just lost my son Joe to ALS on January 4, 2008. He was 33 years old and was dx when he was 29.

His dad and I were his caregivers. We are overcome with grief. I thought nothing could be worse than watching his body deteriorate while his mind raced to keep active in our community.

But our grief overwhelms us... how do you cope with the loss of a child? How do you cope with losing someone to ALS? How do you move forward?

So very sorry for the loss of your son! My Grandfather passed from this disease, when I was a child.

I wanted to welcome you to the forum!

Mimi,

I am so sorry for the loss of your son. Times like these we are just asking why. I am a little familiar with you as I have lost a granddaughter to SIDs. Our whole family was shaking at that time. THe one thing I can say is she is with God and is save in his arms. Just take it one day at a time. I have listed a link for you on grieving their a good number of members there with open arms.

My prayers and thoughts are with you.

Hi, Mimi. I'm so sorry for your loss, no parent should ever have to endure the kind of pain you must be experiencing now.

Let me offer you a link to our parent site, PsychCentral, where there is a message board dedicated to grief and loss. I'll pray for your peace.
