Frown Hi everybody! aka back issues galore...

Hi, my name is Gwen... I stumbled upon this site while searching the web for cervical spine no curve. I see I'm not the only one... I figured I'd sign up so I could explore.

I'm only 28 years old and have a host of back/neck related issues. My doctors have never had the patience for me and I really am not sure what is going on with my back at this point. I decided to take matters into my own hands more so I can be a deciding factor in my own health care.

Last week I had 2 lumbar and 3 cervical x-rays taken and I got the copies myself. Then after looking at them and thinking to myself something isn't right... I went and picked up a copy of the CT scan I had done 6 months ago.

I'm not a doctor, nor am I any trained medical professional... I do not know how to read an x ray or MRI, BUT my spine looks like a wiggling serpent, some vertebrae have HUGE gaps between them and other places it looks like bone is touching bone. Knowing that I sometimes feel grinding in that particular area and that I've been complaining about it for years worries me some.

Anyway... If anybody has any of these things going on or you have an answer for me, feel free to contact me. I'm off to search the forums (until it becomes unbearable to sit at the computer anymore).

!!!

Gwen

Hello Gwen and welcome to NeuroTalk.

It sounds like you've had a terrible time with your neck. Now that you've had new films taken, I hope your doctor can start to give you some answers.

In case you haven't been over there yet, here's the link to our Spinal Forum: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum22.html

You'll find the people over there are very supportive and although I'm unable to assist you at the moment, I truly hope one of the others can.

Hi Gwen and Welcome to NeuroTalk. Sorry about your spine probs, but glad you found us. Sorry, I'm not good at diciphering my own Xrays/MRI's, so couldn't begin to offer up any suggestions to you. Have you seen the Dr since having the tests for their opinion?

But, I do have a grinding on my L5-S1 due to bone on bone. My Xrays and MRI confirmed it. Hope you take a further look around and please make yourself at home.

Smile Hi, Gwen...

Welcome to NeuroTalk! I'm glad to see you here, but sorry for the reason. When you decided to take more charge of your own condition, it was one of the best decisions you could have made. Doctors only think about you when you're in the office, which sometimes might only be fifteen minutes a month. You have to keep reminding them of their own words and ideas sometimes, because they seem to forget. I really hope that you get to the root of whatever is causing your problem, and that something can be done about it. Good luck and God bless!
