Shocked Wow, Here I am!!

Hi, My name is Carolyn and I am not even sure where to begin. On April 1st I had just finished up teaching my 22 4th grade students and headed to my trainers for my usual routine. I was working out and suddenly felt incredible pressure in my head. I became very sick and couldn't turn my head. Luckily a friend called me, realized I didn't sound well and picked me up. I got home and was still very, very sick. All I wanted to do was lay down and sleep. My husband was called and my children 14 and 12 were with me untill he came. He brought me to the emergency room and the next thing I knew they were transporting me to another hospital via ambulance. I was admitted into the ICU unit with a brain bleed. I had 3 angiograms and a crainotomy. They found 3 aneurysms, 2 were clipped and one they will "watch". I was in ICU for 2 weeks and have been home for almost 3 weeks. I am still in shock over what happened. I do realize that I was very lucky!! I have all of my motor skills and have been recovering very well, however I am horrified about what happened. I had no idea or any symptoms of possible problems. I feel that I have been taken out of my "regular life". I return to the neurosurgeons next week and am anxious to hear what he has to say. Every tingle, twinge or pain I feel makes me SCARED. I wonder when I will, if ever, get over being scared that it will happen again. Finding this website has helped me feel less alone. I have so many thoughts and feelings about what I am gong through and I am not even touching the surface. I just felt the need to post tonight.
Thank you all. Just for being here!! May God Bless you and keep you safe.

Smile Hi, Carolyn!

I'm really happy to meet you! You sound like such a positive person. Most people would be scared to death after an experience such as yours. Even though we all know that disaster can happen to anyone, it's always such a shock when it happens to you! But I'm glad that so far everything has turned out well, and I hope it continues to do so. If it's conversation and support you need, you will find that there are members here who will talk and listen and comment on just about everything. I guess we like to run our mouths.

Anyway, once again, it was great to meet you. I wish you good luck and all the best wishes I have to offer.

Welcome Carolpic!

Wow, your story hits close to home: my 94 yo Dad had a brain bleed less than 3 weeks ago. Fortunately, he is doing really well. His Rt side was compromised slightly, but he didn't have to even stay overnight at the hospital.

I can't believe how much you've been thru. Good thing your friend called at the right time. Happy you found us!
