Cool Lookin for info

Hi, I'm brand new and hope this goes where it should...I have lots of arthritis and deteriorating disks in my neck...Had laminectomy of C3 to C6 and have had peripheral neuropathy since the operation...now on Fentanyl patch after trial with morphine which I hated , since I'm 62 and still work sitting at my computer and selling insurance. I flew helicopters in the Army and I wonder if that was part of the problem...but who knows..I also had cancer, bout with heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and numerous other little problems...but life is still good..Have a loving wife, 6 daughters and a few peripheral( They have me wrapped) I hope to live for a long time to take care of wife...or she threatens to do ugly things to me after I'm gone. Read all the welcoming team comments..very impressed how great you all sound..hope to share many stories with you'll in the future Thanks for being here Jim

Hello Jim and thank you for those nice words.

It sounds like you've had an awful lot of problems to contend with, and I really don't think that's fair at all. From what you've had to go through I could refer to you a large number of forums around the site, so why don't I just say welcome, and let you find your own way around the boards?

Please let us know if there's anything we can help you with, but I daresay you'll soon realise for yourself what a wonderful place this is.

Welcome again Jim. I'm so pleased you found us.

HA! Big Jim, I'm liking you already.

One big, warm, tight, hug, handshake and howdy, moose-size, official type welcome to the site. This place is awesome!

You're definitely coping well with all that you have, partner. I'm not familiar with some of the things you mentioned, but chances are we have members here who can relate and maybe even an entire forum focused on some of the same issues.

Either way, keep in mind;

You are not alone.
You are one of us.
And we are here to help.

Hee hee!!!

Welcome to the boards Jim. Don't you just hate life's little problems? They try to interfere!

I've had MS for 20 years. My mom blames the Army. I was in the Pershing nuke missile brigade in Europe. My wife tells me it's all the beer I drink.

Keep your blood pressure under control. I just had 3 aneurysms repaired a couple months ago - left and right common illiac and abdominal aortic arteries. My ascending aortic artery dissected 4 years ago (right at the heart).

You didn't wipe it Jim, it's still there, and thank you once more for your kind words.

I think that Australia is a wonderful country, but at the same time I have made some very special friends in the USA since I started using a computer, and I've learned heaps about your fabulous country as well.

I'm sure you're probably like I was when I first started on the computer a few short years ago, but believe me, you learn quickly as you go along.

It's nice to meet you Jim. I hope you soon feel comfortable with us.

By the way.....don't tell my hubby you think our beer is strange
