Bless your heart. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. Please join us on the peripheral neuropathy forum, ok?

I also have PN, which was caused from surgery for herniated discs. I had 2 open surgeries for discs, and both surgeries were failures.

My doctor prescribed Topamax 400mg per day for neuropathy, and it has worked wonders for me. No more burning/zapping/feeling of water running down my legs/etc. The pain is GONE. The burning was the worst -- that was just awful.. Now it's gone! Happy days. A good share of doctors prescribe Gabapentin (Neurontin) and that stuff made me loopy and i gained about 30 lbs in water retention!!! So I asked doc to take me off that and put me on Topamax, so he did -- and no more feeling loopy, and all the water was gone, and off came the weight! I have NO side effects from it either, but that doesn't mean that others don't have side effects. There could be some. You can look them up at the top of this page, where it says "Drugs".

Best of luck and let us know how you do, ok? God bless. Hugs, Lee

Welcome to Neuro talk. The PN forum is the place to be for some good advice and hope. I too have PN and take a host of suppliments that seem to really help. I hope to see you around the boards, there are lots of good people here who can offer support, and maybe some more ideas. ginnie

have you tried neuropathy support you can find it online. Also I am going to go wheat/gluten free in that there have been studies associated with PN being caused by wheat and gluten.
