Help Trigeminal Neuropathy Help???

I have been living with this condition for over 8 years now and I am exhausted. If anyone out there knows of any solutions or best remedies, please let me know. So far I've been dealing with my condition by using Tegretol, MetanX, Morphine, Vicodin, radio frequency, nerve blocking and steroids. Frankly I don't want the drugs, the price to pay for using the narcotics is too high.
If there is anyone who knows of a proven solution, please let me know.
Thanks,
Jeff R

Hi there Jeff and welcome to NeuroTalk.

I feel for you with this condition as I've had it myself.
I have MS, and TN is quite a common symptom for us to get.

From my own experience, narcotics are not much help at all with nerve pain, but rather the anti-epileptics or drugs like Neurontin seem to be the way to go.

I see you've already tried Tegretol. I use a similar one called Epilum, but as I don't live in the USA, I'm not sure if it's available to you.

Here's the link to out TN Forum, incase you've not already found it for yourself: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum26.html

Hi Jeff and welcome to NeuroTalk! I'm sorry you're having such pain and frustration with your condition. I have MS, just as Koala77 does, and it can present TN as a symptom so I know what you're experiencing. Please feel free to join in anywhere you feel comfortable - there are lots of wonderful and caring people here who want to help.
