Default annie

I have recently been diagnosed with an unruptured cerebral aneurysm and have been advised to seek no treatment at this time but monitor its condition in a year. I am concerned about the anxiety I have in living with this "time bomb" in my head.

Hi Annie and welcome to NeuroTalk! I'm sorry about your condition - that would seem to me to be a bit stressful...just waiting and watching for a year. Hopefully you will remain stable and not have any problems with it.

I've posted the link to the Aneurysm forum - someone there might possibly be going through the same thing as you are and can offer some advice or suggestions.

http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum7.html

Take care - and I'm glad you joined us!

Hi Annie and welcome to NeuroTalk from me as well.

I can certainly understand your anxiety over this aneurysm, and i personally think that would be a natural reaction.

Herekitty's suggestion of the Aneurysm Forum is a good one, as we do have other members with similar conditions to your own.

Hi, Cecilcamp! Welcome to NeuroTalk!

That would cause anyone anxiety! Have you sought a second opinion?

Hello Annie and Welcome to NeuroTalk. My Mother had an abdominal aortic anneurysm that her Vascular Dr kept an eye on, as it wasn't big enough to do surgery. However, I don't know anything about your type of ann..

Another opinion might put your mind at ease.

Glad you found us.

Hi, what size is it and where is it located? I have a 2.2 mm and it is going to be monitored, so I am not worried about that one, but the 5mm gets clipped in 3 weeks, and I had a 12mm coiled last July, I know the time-bomb feeling, but if you keep your blood pressure down, and get on with life, you will be okay, many people are walking around with annies and they don't ever know it and the annies don't ever rupture.
