Hi, has anyone had a catarac lens come loose at the top of the eye and fall backwards in the eye where you couldn't see? Mine did. Was risky to remove it as was connected at the bottom still. Said it was risky to leave it in but didn't know how risky as hadn't done any testing on it. Couldn't put another lens in as would have to put it in the front of the eye, which doc said that also was risky. So the other choice I had was to leave it and take the lesser risk (hopefully) and be fitted with a high powered contact lens. I figured that would be the best way to go. It still isn't right but ordered another lens, so hopefully that works. My Glossopharygneal Neuralogia hasn't been back eithor. I thank God that I didn't loose my eye sight permanentally, and my Neuralgia didn't come back. mjacobs 22

I've never had a problem like that myself, but an uncle of mine had a similar injury happen at work when a bungee cord popped loose and the steel hook dragged across his eye. He's seen a lot of specialists since it happened about twenty years ago, but so far the best they've been able to do is to restore his vision in that eye only partially. He has to wear very strong glasses, and even then everything is blurry in that eye. I hope that you find out your injury is simpler and easier to heal. Good luck to you!

Hi, Mjacobs! Welcome to NeuroTalk!
Wow, I've never heard of such a thing, thank goodness you haven't lost all vision.

I've had something a little like that, but way milder than the problems you had from your contact lens.
I have had a lens slip into the nose side of my eye and I wasn't able to get it out for hours. Mine did eventually move outwards so that I could eventually get it out, but I assure you it wasn't very nice. I'm glad you've not been bothered by the Glossopharygneal Neuralogia because I know how horrid that can be. I actually wanted to welcome to NeuroTalk mjacobs22. It's good to have you with us.

Koala, The lens that came loose was one from a catarac surgery , one that was sewn in, not a contact lens. The replaced it with a contact lens.
Glad you didn't have a lot of trouble. Mjacobs 22 |

Wow that is terrible. I just had my second eye worked on and it is giving me some trouble. I cant put my hand on it but my eye just doesnt seem right. Sometimes it feels as if the lens might be moving around a little. Did this happen all at one time or did u have some symptoms leading to this? I would like to hear more about this. I am a little scared I may be in trouble also.
