Hello!

I'm a "survivor" of 14 spine surgeries and about to have another in 3 weeks.
I have a genetic problem (hyperelastic) which sets me up for my vertebrae shucking and causing nerve impingement and pain--then fusions. BUT--I keep going and try not to let it keep me from my life TOO much. (I have had to change interests but I still find interesting things to keep me happy.) I'm married to a special man, which helps. In fact he is EXTRA special. I'm 74 and hope to live to be over 100 --but I do hope I can do it with a good attitude and not TOO much pain that I can't enjoy things. When I feel well, I love do "dig in the dirt" (garden--and in sand it is is a "project"), identify birds, love to meet with friends over dinner (more in restaurants now--tho I love cooking, it's hard on my bod.) I was a pianist but have bad finger problems so those days are over--used to accompany a son when he auditioned for groups (French horn).
My interests are varied and I enjoy people, but don't get around that much. I like people who are "fighters," i.e., work hard to overcome their problems. It shows one's mettle and I am so proud when I hear of those who manage to overcome! Seems I spend a fair am't of time on my back--OR walking! I try to keep busy when can handle it. Boredom is not a word I know much about. i hope to meets some of you in the future---and till then, Cheers!

Hello dear Jetty. I'm so very pleased to meet you and I think you're just wonderful from the little that you've told us about yourself!

Although I'm so sorry to hear about the terrible problems that you've had with your back, I just hope that I'm as clear of mind, and as up with the times (like computers that I'm still learning about!) as you are at 74. Mind you you're only around 15 yrs older than I am, but I did want to tell you that I admire you already, and I'm proud to make your aquaintence.

Welcome to NeuroTalk Jetty. I hope we meet again.

............................FOR YOU

Hi Jetty:

Just wanted to add my warmest welcome to you here at Neurotalk.

You sound like my kind of girl. Nothing gets to you. You'll get up swinging.

And you know how to use a computer. Now how cool is that.

The people who live below me are 82 and he goes on the computer all the time.

I think technology is so cool.

So you keep fighting and you will indeed LIVE TO 100.

I know because I plan on doing the very same thing.

lol
