I am a senior living in Hawaii. In the last few months I have gotten numb and tingling in my fourth and fifth fingers of my right hand. From disregarding it to now really make me take notice of it. I have read on the internet about it and have seen my MD. Now I think it is time to hear what those who have various neurological have to say about my and their problems. I have a wife that has RSD for eight years and we are living through that up and down nightmare.

--a neuropathy of the ulnar nerve, or one of the branches that lead to it; there is also the possibility of thoracic outlet syndrome (though you'd probably have more symptoms with that--do you have any others, neurological or non-neurological?).
We have boards for both TOS and neuropathy here at Neurotalk; feel free to drop in on either/both and talk about what you've been experiencing, what tests you've had, treatments you've tried or would like to . . . |

Welcome to NeuroTalk, Palms! And aloha to you, too!
There are so many possible things just in the realm of neurology that it would be futile to guess one thing or another. My first line of defense would be to ask your pcp if a referral to a neuro might be in order. In the meantime, there is a nifty search engine up yonder in your page's toolbar that may lead you to posts of a similar nature. I'm glad you've joined us and if we can help you navigate or anything, just give a holler! ![]()

Hi Palms!
![]() I am sorry to hear your wife has been battling RSD. I see that Jo has referred you to the TOS forum.. Often TOSers (as we like to be called - I am one) have numbness and tingling in their fourth and fifth digits. Have you done a lot of overhead work in the past? How is your posture? TOS is hard to diagnose, many docs are not that familiar with it and it rarely shows up on mri's etc. . We have some excellent resources on the TOS forum. Please feel free check it out. Make sure that if a doc send you for PT that you do not do anything that hurts. Aloha! |

I just completed a long drive from Mississippi to Illinois. During the drive everything was fine but the day after the drive things changed. I have slight numbness and tingling in my pinky and ring fingers on my left hand. The numbness increases to my whole hand, waking me up at night. I can actually press a nerve or vein near my elbow and create tingling. It has been 9 days now with no relief. There is no pain, but the tingling and numbness affects my awake hours and my sleep hours. Any suggestions? Please Help.
