Default parkinsons for 8 years

i was searching (google) for an answer to a question thats been bugging me for quite some time. i just had DBS (in April), and have been on and off ever since. when first adjusted i felt great, then slowly i would taper off to where i was no better off than before the surgury. every time i was tuned up it was great, only to slowly revert. i cut my meds down to 1 1/2 sinemet every three hours, 1 mirapex every other dose. i am now having to increase my meds, and even then sometimes i can't seem to avoid off periods. i have spent days where i am on very little. i am going to get adjusted in oct. has anybody had a similar experience? i am also wondering about the effect of alcohol and marijuana on parkinsons. is it harmful , will it effect the way that dbs and meds work ?
