I think this site is just what I need. After years of searching for a diagnosis (I have a few but can't help but wonder what caused all of this to start at the same time) I'm frustrated, lonely, and alone. I've looked for support groups in my area for my various diagnosis and haven't had much luck. My mother suggested I try to find something online so here I am. I'm new to forums of any kind so still learning. I chose this one because it covers so much. My diagnosis....widespread osteoarthritis, peripheral neuropathy (idiopathic but most doctors mention the possibility of hereditary because of my extremely high arches and hammer toes), fibromyalgia depending on which doctor I'm talking to, skeletal anonomolies in hips, legs, feet, elbows, and wrists. I look forward to becoming active on this site. Everyone seems so supportive. Nice to find people who understand!

Well hi there and warm welcome to you (Happy Thanksgiving also).

There are lots of friendly people here (with various diagnoses). But we use humor also. It seems that when you laugh, (even when you are in pain), for a few moments, you forget the pain and sometimes even WHY you are in pain.

I have Diabetes, Degenerative Joint Disease, Scoliosis, Neuropathy, High Blood Pressure and god knows what else.

I also don't care what I have because I take each day as it comes and I try to find SOMETHING positive when I walk out my front door.

I just discovered Sprouting and now I grow stuff in my kitchen. And on Thursday, I am baking my first ever Sugar Free-Fat Free-Sodium Free Pumpkin Pie.

Never did that before. I do stuff now at the age of 61 that I never thought I could do.

So just hold on, people will come aboard and share some helpful tips.

I wish you and your family a lovely holiday.

Take care,

Melody

perhaps a geneticist would be helpfu, perhaps you have some inborn errors of metabolism.....one thing you can do is "clean up" your diet....the simplest diet, with no refined foods.....only throwing this out there because it is something you can do yourself....without testing....good luck
