Hi!
My name is Amy and I am 23 years old. I have a tremor that I have self-diagnosed as an essential tremor based on my family history and many hours of researching different types of tremors. Thankfully it isn't that bad yet and I am able to work around it and do what I need to get done. I also recently have been diagnosed with MDD. I was in the hospital a couple months ago due to self injury and suicidal ideation. My doctor put me on Seroquel, prozac, and wellbutrin while in the hospital and I've been on them since. They seem to have really helped my mood, but lately I have been having some vision problems. In the mid-late afternoon I have vertical double vision that can last up to 3 hours, and this happens almost every day. I first started experiencing this a couple weeks ago. I just went to the eye doctor and he wasn't sure. He wants to send me to a specialist to look at my eyes. I am wondering if this could be due to the three meds I am on. Has anyone else taken any of these meds and experienced vision problems? Since I am only having the problem in the afternoon and not all day, it makes me wonder if it could be related to the meds. All I know is that it is really annoying and difficult to work and do my daily activities when I am seeing double. Thanks for any insight! |

Hi Amy and welcome to NeuroTalk! Glad you decided to join us here. I would definitely speak to the doctor who prescribed those meds and let him/her know about this side effect you're having. It very well could be due to the mixture of medications but only a doctor can make that call. Good luck!

hello Amy and welcome to neuro Talk. here is a link to the medication forum where you can post some questions about perhaps the vision issue as a side effect of meds you are on. do not hesitate to ask folks here are fantastic helpful and kind.
http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/forum72.html I personally would go see an ophthalmologist for the vision just to be sure, you dont want to chance your vision and even a neuro for the tremors,(if you are not seeing one already) you may want to see a doc just to be sure it isn't something serious and or maybe the doc can control the tremors. again welcome to Neuro Talk

Yes, Both Seroquel and SSRI antidepressants can cause vision changes both temporary and permanent problems. The Wellbutrin, I am not sure about.

Hi,
You can telephone any pharmacist to get this question answered. Also, each med has its own web site with the side effects listed. Let your doctor know. You might need different medication. Mari |

It's possible. Please call your pharmacist as Mari said. You will probably get some answers. I'm also on seroquel, and a couple of other medicines. If the blurred vision happened right when the doctor was determining the amount of medicine that you should take, that might be the problem. Also talk to your doctor after you talk to your pharmacist.
There are two popular areas on this website that we can talk to you on concerning certain aspects of what you are going through. One is the Bi-polar area, and the SOS area is the other. I'm sorry that you have tremors. I tremble a little because of my anxiety. Please scroll down to those areas, and we will try to help you,and talk to you. Welcome to Neurotalk. We have allot of caring people who will help you. BF ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
