Default Rsd,crps

Hi everyone my name is Mike and I have RSD/CRPS for 14 years.I had my right hand crushed by 1500 pounds of steel in an industrial accident back in 1994.I have had 5 surgeries then a quarter of my hand amputated. The RSD/CRPS started in in my hand and arm I was getting numerous Ganglion Nerve Blocks and hand therapy and Meds which helped bring it under control somewhat. Then it started to spread first my shoulders, back, and then to both legs and feet wen this happened I was getting Lower Lumbar Injections plus water therapy and more Meds helped for awhile. Finally my Pain Management Doctor said we should try a Spinal Cord Stimulator I got my first one in May of 2002 what a God sent still in pain but went from a 10 down to a 2 and no more Meds. But then bad news this past November 1st. it QUIT talk about pain after almost 6 years of stimulation talk about PAIN,I could not walk, stnd or take care of myself either I was a in a wheelchair or confined to bed Thank God for my wife and family who have been by my side since all this happened.Any Doctors appointments I had we had to call the Fire Department to carry me out to the car then they would come back and carry me into the house.I am happy to say that on November 20 2008 I had a new SCS implanted what a good feeling again I went into surgery at 9am and was home sitting at my kitchen table at 11:45.Myold SCS was from Medtronics, now I have a Boston Scientific which I like better the stimulation is better and there are more things I can do with it.I hope I didnt bore you with my story and Thanks for letting me share it with you.InPain
